Every week I read another article about transparency in the supply chain. This article from sourcing journal makes it clear consumers are increasingly interested in how their products are made. Importantly, the tools that make it possible to both profitable and responsible are now emerging.

While I am a passionate advocate for free trade, I have never believed that making a profit negates endeavoring to do the right thing.

Below are my 3 definitions of what it means to have full transparency in the Global Supply Chain. What are your thoughts on my definitions below? Is there anything you would add or take away?

> SOCIAL TRANSPARENCY
Tools and processes designed to improve the lives of humans and the health of the environment.

> SUPPLY CHAIN TRANSPARENCY
Tools and processes designed to improve the flow of products from source to customers.

> REGULATORY TRANSPARENCY
Tools and processes designed to improve compliance with governmental requirements.
